Program Overview
At K.B. Polk, students thrive in a supportive school community where our expert teachers foster each student's unique ability and learning style. We create engaging classroom environments that embrace student diversity and school culture.
Our campus provides a variety of opportunities that serve the needs of our community and meet student interests. The Fine Arts program at K.B. Polk is designed to cultivate creative and confident members of society. We offer a robust selection of clubs that engage students before, during, and after school. Our students participate in academic competitions throughout the Dallas area, which promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. K.B. Polk provides extended student experiences through numerous field trips and community projects. We are K.B. Polk, where exceptional education meets extraordinary opportunities.
Visual & Performing Arts Auditions
Students that meet the eligibility criteria (75 GPA and STAAR/iReady scores at the 40th percentile or above) will be invited in for an audition and interview. Students can be at the beginner level without any experience and do not need to have anything prepared. All materials will be taught on campus.
TAG Testing
Students that meet eligibility criteria (80 GPA and STAAR/iReady scores at the 70th percentile or above) will be invited in for NNAT3 testing and to complete a writing sample.
Students who were nominated for Dallas ISD's Talented and Gifted Program during the fall of the current school year were assessed using the NNAT3. Students with existing NNAT3 fall 2025 scores will not be reassessed for magnet school testing during this application season. The application process will follow the same existing protocol used for state and national assessments.
